U.S. Customs and Tariffs
U.S. Customs and Tariffs
UPDATE 11/08/2025
We wanted to give you a friendly heads up about some new U.S. import rules that could affect orders from Wisteria Road.
What’s happening?
From August 29, 2025, the United States is removing the current De minimis threshold for small international packages (previously $800 USD).
For the next six months (Aug 29, 2025 – Feb 28, 2026), parcels sent through the international postal system might be charged a flat-rate import duty of USD $80–$100 per package.
After February 28, 2026, all postal shipments will switch to percentage-based (“ad valorem”) duties instead, this will be set at 30% as per the current regulations.
What this could mean for your order:
-
You might be asked to pay a duty of USD $80–$100 before your parcel is delivered.
-
These payments aren’t collected at your door — they’re usually requested before your parcel is released from U.S. Customs.
-
Your postal service could also add a small handling fee.
Please note:
As per our Shipping Policy, Wisteria Road does not take responsibility for any tariffs, import taxes, or handling fees charged by U.S. Customs or the postal service. These charges are set by the U.S. government and must be paid by the customer. We recommend checking the latest U.S. import regulations, so you know what to expect before ordering.
We truly appreciate our U.S. customers and understand these changes may make ordering a little more complicated. Our hope is that these tariffs and fees are short-lived, and that we’ll soon be able to send your favourite Wisteria Road pieces without the extra costs. In the meantime, we'll continue to share clear updates and keep you informed if there are any changes.
Thank you for your understanding and for sticking with us through it all.
